Which of These Trends Will Affect Your Cloud Computing Initiatives? "A L O N E"

Cloud computing industry has been changing at a maddening pace that is almost impossible to predict. To make it worse, the events of 2021 has led cloud computing to a direction that no one could have imagined before. Regardless of the changes, cloud computing continues to occupy an important part in almost every industry. With the changing times, the cloud will change significantly. Here are some changes that can affect your cloud computing initiatives:

  • Multi-cloud approaches will break down barriers

Currently, the leading cloud service providers such as Amazon, Google and Microsoft use a one-stop-shop platform approach to market their services. They cover almost all aspects of the organizational cloud needs, such as data and compute requirements. With the rising competition, however, the industry has continued to attract hybrid or multi-cloud cloud computing environments approach where the infrastructure is deployed across many models. As this happens, there are growing calls for the big cloud service providers to bridge the gap between their platforms. This approach will give an advantage to customers and organizations that need to share and access data with partners through diverse applications and standards.

  • Artificial intelligence will become critical

AI has become one of the most crucial technologies in the cloud computing industry. As we move towards a new year, it will be one of the things that we can expect to shape the competition between the cloud service providers. AI-based cloud-as-a-service platforms give the users the ability to do things such as language processing, image recognition and recommendation engines. Moving towards 2021, other revolutionary tools will be widely deployed by cloud service providers leading to more efficiency and increased productivity. We are likely to see things such as autonomous vehicles and smart city infrastructure algorithms, delivering their services through the cloud.

  • SaaSOps will be ramped

As software-as-a-service continues increasing, more specialized platforms have already emerged. These platforms are aimed at managing migrations and operations. To keep up with this rise, SaaSOps is increasingly getting established as a new role for specialized IT experts aimed at managing the emerging cloud assets. Many vendors are already enabling comprehensive cloud management suites such as Google G Suite, Salesforce and Microsoft Office 365, among others.

  • Gaming will be streamed from the cloud

Cloud gaming is slowly but surely picking up. Amazon is an example of cloud service providers that have up with other organizations to bring about a platform for cloud gaming. Like music and video streaming, cloud gaming will revolutionize the gaming industry and how games can be accessed. Gaming will be based on subscription. According to industry experts, customers will save a few dollars that would have been spent on hardware and software resources while also remaining on top of things regarding cutting edge gaming.

  • Hybrid on-premise cloud solutions will become famous

Private, public and hybrid clouds have their advantages and disadvantages. They are mainly based on aspects such as security, compliance, cost, performance and flexibility. However, as the cloud ecosystem change, consumers are increasingly demanding hybrid solutions because the one-size-fits-all approach offers no flexibility. As such, hybrid or multi-cloud solutions that allow users to pick individual components or elements are gaining fame. This has led to a situation where cloud service providers are forced to relook their strategies and invest in new models altogether. An excellent example is Google and Amazon, traditionally known for selling one-size-fits-all solutions. These providers have embraced the new demand by organizations to offer flexible on-premise solutions that are characterized by flexibility. This is just one example of how the cloud service provision landscape is changing. More of such changes should be expected in the future.
